The Seated Cook

Simple, healthy, vegetarian food

About

I call this site “The Seated Cook” since I have a medical condition that doesn’t allow me to stand on my feet for too long.  Rather than let that hinder my ability to cook, I always sit on a stool or kneel on a chair while I’m making my creations. Even with sitting, it’s best for me not to spend too long on a recipe, so the recipes I post shouldn’t be too complicated for people to try.

I enjoy cooking simple, healthy meals.  The meals are vegetarian, and tasty enough for some carnivores to enjoy (my husband sure does).  Some of the recipes don’t require precise amounts of all the ingredients, which is why I don’t list exact amounts for certain ingredients.  I also like to improvise a little in the kitchen, so feel free to make your own version of these dishes by substituting some ingredients.

Food is important in my family, and I often share with my parents and sister what I’m eating during the day.  After receiving several meal pictures from me, my family encouraged me to start a food blog to showcase these recipes, so I began working on this site.

Bon Appetite!
